Lars Hauptmann
I'm a software engineer in Zürich. I work where software meets the body: turning signals from wrists, brains and tissue into something you can measure.
Now
At Navignostics I build the pipelines, tools and models behind spatial proteomics for cancer diagnostics. That means multiplexed images of tumour tissue from hundreds of patients, and the question of what they predict about treatment.
Before
- 2024–25ETH ZürichBuilt a wrist sensor that reads finger microgestures from blood flow and motion, then ran a 60-person study to prove it.
- 2023StanfordTaught a Bayesian brain MRI model to segment new scans without redoing a patient's whole history.
- 2023ETH ZürichEstimated heart rate from a wrist accelerometer while you sleep, within 3 beats per minute.
- 2020–21Carl Zeiss MeditecRendered synthetic surgery videos in Blender to train a tool segmentation model that shipped in a product.
- 2017–24KIT & ETH ZürichB.Sc. and M.Sc. in electrical engineering, with a semester in Shanghai in between.
